An integer value corresponding to the genus of the taxid stored into the taxid attribute. If the genus is not defined for this taxid, this value is None.

Warning

This taxonomic information is just added to the sequence for the end-user convenience and not used by other OBITools programs as taxonomic information. Only the taxonomic information included in the taxid attribute is used as taxonomic annotation.
