Setting-up and using DeCiDa (Silvaco SmartSpice Users)¶
First-time setup for Silvaco SmartSpice Users¶
The application are found in the python bin directory, after installation (which or whence python to find the bin directory). These should be in the path so that simply typing an appication name, (calc, for example) should run the application.
The pre-installed tool wrappers are in the distribution ./etc/wrappers directory. These are installed to ~/.DeCiDa/bin
These are the two example projects. The project drive is where SmartSpice is launched. The scratch drive is where DeCiDa writes simulation data.
project: | technology: | simulator: | project_drive: | scratch_drive: |
---|---|---|---|---|
bird | ptm_130nm | SmartSpice | ~/.DeCiDa/projects/bird | ~/.DeCiDa/projects/bird/scratch |
trane | ptm_45nm | SmartSpice | ~/.DeCiDa/projects/trane | ~/.DeCiDa/projects/trane/scratch |
Generate a starter python script¶
create a top-level test-bench schematic in Gateway
- check all to detect any issues
- in simulation mode, check signals to be saved the schematic must be closed to have a *.crb file be generated
- edit/modify the control file
simulation->create netlist
close the schematic so that *.crb file is generated
run creat_sspice_script <testbench> (fill in parameters)
- creates <testbench>.py
modify the python script and use to run simulations
